Another launch today: Lotus presented its 2012’s car this afternoon, with Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean unveiling it. Like the others cars, except McLaren, it has a ugly front wing, quite similar to the Ferrari one, but less outstanding.
Raikkonen has been asked if he was nervous about his return, compared to the Schumacher’s one: “Not really. It will be something slightly different from what it used to be with another team and new regulations, but everybody is different: some people have more difficulties to get used to new stuff; it depends a lot from the car. I was happy after the first test we did, it felt pretty normal already. But before the first race it’s very difficult to say.
Romain Grosjean, 2011 GP2 champion added: “I’m feeling quite good before the season, very happy and proud to have been choosen as one of the drivers. I will learn a lot from Kimi, we need to work and bring the team as forward as possible. But then, again, we will see where we are in the tests”.
With his black and yellow livery, the original colours of the first car, and a new name, “Lotus”, the team is aiming to fight for the forth place in the standings, trying to beat at least Mercedes.
