Red Bull has just announced that Sebastien Buemi will join the team as reserve and test driver, after he was fired by Toro Rosso few weeks ago. The 23 years old driver spent the last three years in the Italian team, and added: “It’s good to remain with Red Bull for another year and have this opportunity with the world championship-winning team. I would prefer to drive in races of course, but working with RBR on the development of their car and providing them with feedback throughout the season is the next best thing”.
Buemi has been related to Red Bull for seven year, and in 2009 joined Toro Rosso impressing everyone; in 2010 he struggled to find the pace but finally managed to stay ahead of the teammate Alguersuari, while in the last year he suffered the problems of the car, and finished 15th in the standings.
Red Bull has also announced that Mark Webber will be the first one to drive in the winter tests, and there are also now rumors about Rubens Barrichello staying at Williams. Time will tell, stay tuned!
